Abstract

The work aims to introduce the fundamental principle of RFID technology at home and abroad and its application in the smart packaging, so as to provide reference for the follow-up development and application of RFID technology. The application status of RFID technology combined with smart packaging in warehousing management, retail management, medical management and identification was introduced in detail. As a new type of communication technology, RFID technology shared huge market prospects. Compared with the traditional bar code, RFID technology could realize data statistics through the information sensing and no longer needed to scan one by one, which greatly saved manpower and material resources. However, due to the high cost of RFID equipment, the cost of RFID electronic tag was high, which severely limited its development and application in the field of smart packaging. The new smart packaging combined with RFID technology realizes rapid and accurate data statistics through the information sensing instead of manual scanning of commodity packages one by one. The new smart packaging saves the labor cost and it is safe and highly efficient.
