New China National Food Safety Standards on Food Contact Materials

Abstract

The work aims to investigate the main requirements of new China national food safety standards and identify the main changes accordingly, so as to give compliance evaluation suggestions. The new China national food safety standards on food contact material were comprehensively and deeply researched and compared with the old standards, and the characteristics of management and the main changes of new China national standards were analyzed. The new standards were subject to a series of significant changes with respect to scope of application, management mode, technical requirements and rules for migration test, etc. Such changes had brought challenges to the industries related to food contact materials. In order to implement the new standards in a better way, the suggestions on the compliance evaluation of new standards are given.
