Abstract

To prepare a new kind of degradable green environmental protection material with polyvinyl alcohol (PVA) and PHBHHx as the substrate. PVA/PHBHHx blend membranes were prepared by solution and mixing method. The properties of the membranes were analyzed by mechanical properties, scanning electron microscopy, X-ray diffraction, oxygen permeation, thermogravimetric analysis and biodegradability. When the mass ratio was 2∶1, the fracture surface of the blend membranes was dense and the compatibility was very good. Compared with pure PHBHHx membranes, PVA/ PHBHHx blend membranes had better mechanical and oxygen resistance properties, and the processing window of the blend membrane became wider. They can be widely applied in the field of biodegradable packaging materials.
