Abstract
This work aimed to prepare a compound system using a surfactant and 1, 2-propanediol to replace alcohol and add it into fountain solution to get alcohol-free fountain solution. First, preliminary screening based on the HLB value of surfactants resulted in three kinds of surfactants (Coconut oil fatty acid diethanolamide, alkanolamide, sodium dodecyl sulfate). Based on the research of the wettability of single surfactant systems, sodium dodecyl sulfate was found to be suitable for complexing with 1,2-propanediol. Through research on the wettability of compound systems, the best mix ratios and addition amounts were obtained, in order to get the optimal formula of fountain solution. The best mass ratio between 1,2-propanediol and sodium dodecyl sulfate was found to be 1.5︰0.005, and the critical micelle concentration of the compound system under this condition was 1.505%. All performance indexes of the prepared fountain solution met corresponding requirements. Compounding 1,2-propanediol and sodium dodecyl sulfate could create alcohol-free fountain solution, which avoids the damage generated by alcohol during fountain.
