Abstract
This study aimed to investigate the surface wettability and chemical composition of bamboo green and bamboo yellow that were modified by corona treatment, phosphoric acid/KH550 treatment and joint treatment. The performance of wood substitute packaging materials was also analyzed. The tangent method and IR spectra analysis were employed to study the surface wettability and chemical composition change, and the test solution were water and glycerine. Our results showed that the contact angle of bamboo green and bamboo yellow was 46.0° and 36.6° , 32.1° and 41.1° by corona treatment; 27.4° and 35.8°,4.1° and 39.3° by phosphoric acid/KH550 treatment; 39.1° and 19.1°,17.9° and 40.7° by joint treatment. In addition, the hydrogen bond (-OH) and SiO2 were broken. The MOR of the wood substitute packaging materials was 24.8 MPa, 13.1 MPa, and 17.1 MPa; the IB was 1.73 MPa, 1.46 MPa, and 1.68 MPa; the TS was 4.9%, 6.9%, and 5.9%. The density was 0.788,0.690 and 0.769 g/cm3. Compared with the untreated wood packaging materials prepared by the environment protection, the physical and mechanical properties of the performance of wood substitute packaging materials were improved after different treatments. Take together, the surface wettability of Bamboo Green and Bamboo Yellow and the performance of wood substitute packaging materials were significantly improved after treated by corona, followed by joint treatment and the phosphoric acid/KH550 treatment.
