Abstract

To improve the surface performance and the additional value of molded pulp. his paper studied the forming process of a two-ply molded pulp product, and investigated the influencing factors of the forming process of the two-ply molded pulp product through orthogonal experimental design. The tests showed that both the moisture content of wet blank molded pulp and the beating degree of special pulp slurry caused changes in chromatic aberration of samples. The chromatic aberration was ΔE=0.41 under the optimal conditions. As revealed by orthogonal experiments, the influences of the three factors on colour difference followed the order of the moisture content of wet blank molded pulp, the beating degree and the fiber composition. And range analysis showed that the optimal experiment condition for reaching the least chromatic aberration was: a moisture content of wet blank molded pulp of 15%, a beating degree of 20 °SR and a mass ratio between outer special slurry and inner common slurry of 0.45.
