Abstract

Objective A new color target optimization model based on the digital output device was designed, to realize more accurate description of the chromatic adaptation of the device. Methods The color matching adaptability of the Epson Stylus Pro7910 printer was discussed with the ECI2002 color target, the IT8.7/4 color table and the TC3.5 color target. A new optimization of color target model was designed where the ECI2002 color target was selected for reference, and the four color targets were experimentally analyzed by four evaluation indicators. Results The experimental results indicated that the new color target proposed by this paper performed better than the other three color targets in the description of the digital output device’ s chromatic adaptation. Conclusion The new color target performed better than the other three color targets in the 3D(Lab) color gamut range, the two-dimensional area (S), the neutral gray color reproduction and the chromatic aberration, which demonstrated the effectiveness and accuracy of the digital output device′ s chromatic adaptation characterized by the new color target.
