Abstract

Objective To study the filling of chemical materials with flammable and foaming characteristics. Methods A fully enclosed explosion-proof automatic liquid filling equipment with automatic lid unloading, automatic filling under the surface and automatic covering was designed. Nitrogen gas was filled into the empty barrel after removing the lid in the unloading station, automatic filling under the surface was performed in the filling station, the filling head was ensured to be always under the surface, and then the lid was screwed in the capping station after the completion of filling. The filling and capping stations were designed in a closed room, and the volatile materials were pumped out of the room by an exhaust fan. Results Barrels were filled with nitrogen before filling, to prevent materials from evaporation, while filling under the surface prevented the occurrence of foams, and the closed room avoided pollution of the environment. Conclusion The filling equipment has been applied in a chemical enterprise, verified for stable and reliable operation performance, and is therefore suitable for the enclosed filling of flammable industrial materials.
