Abstract

Sliver-loaded zeolite antibacterial agent was prepared by using zeolite was used as carrier and AgNO3 as the exchange solution with ion-exchanging method. The bacteriostatic effect of the antibacterial agent on escherichia coli was detected. The result indicated that the optimum preparing conditions is pH value 6 ~8, AgNO3 concentration 0. 1 mol/ L, the reaction temperature 70 ℃, and reaction time 3 h. Polyvinyl alcohol (PVA) was selected as the sizing agent and the sliver loaded zeolite was added into the sizing agent. Antibacterial paper was prepared by spraying the sizing agent with sliver loaded zeolite on the paper surface. The results showed that the antibacterial has better paper bursting strength, folding resistance, ring crush strength, and tensile strength then the base paper.
