Abstract

Corrugated paperboard is used very extensively in cushion packaging, and its structure has great influence on cushioning performance. Inner triangle, outer triangle, square, and square composite structures were designed. The stress-strain curves of each configuration were drawn based on static compression tests. The influence of inside and out side folding, angle of cushion structure, shape of support, and diagonal bracing on cushioning performance was analyzed and compared. It was concluded that the cushioning performance of inner triangle structure is better than that of outer triangle; the cushioning performance of inner triangle structure with 60 degree is better; the square composite structure is of the best cushioning performance among the developed structures. The purpose was to provide reference for design and application of corrugated paperboard cushioning structure.
