An open-closing mechanism of couple vacuum chamber was designed by analyzing its structural characteristics and the working principle. The detailed design process was introduced. Feasibility design and optimal design was carried out using behavioral module of Pro / Engineer software. The optimal design was successful to get a model with minimal sum of rod length, which meets the design requirements.
