The application and development process of high-performance fiber and composite materials in protective equipment were introduced. The application status, advantages, and disadvantage of aramid fibers, ultra-high molecular weight polyethylene fiber, heterocyclic fiber, and their composite materials were introduced. The trend and direction of the development and application of high-performance fiber and composite materials in protective equipment were put forward.
