Abstract

During logistics transportation, fruit damage caused by static pressure, impact, vibration and other factors occurs frequently, resulting in significant resource wastes. The work aims to provide a comprehensive review of fruit damage in terms of common forms of logistics-induced damage and corresponding characterization methods. Static pressure damage, dynamic impact damage, and vibration damage of fruits were analyzed along with their influencing factors. The characterization methods for fruit damage were summarized from three aspects: external appearance damage, mechanical properties, and biochemical properties, covering both traditional detection methods and non-destructive testing techniques. Future prospects for fruit logistics transportation were also proposed. In conclusion, fruit damage during logistics transportation is closely related to external factors such as static pressure, dynamic impact, and vibration excitation, while also being influenced by the fruit's own structural characteristics. Packaging factors also have a significant effect on fruit logistics damage. This paper can serve as a reference for loss reduction in postharvest fruit logistics transportation.
