Prediction Model of Color Reproduction Quality of Ink-jet Printing Paper Based on ANP-FCE

Abstract

To achieve "what you see is what you get" and improve the color reproduction quality of ink-jet printing, the work aims to construct an evaluation model of color reproduction of ink-jet printing paper based on the Analytic Network Process (ANP) and Fuzzy Comprehensive Evaluation Method (FCE). Five kinds of ink-jet printing paper were selected, and their surface properties such as whiteness, absorbency, glossiness, roughness and opacity were tested respectively. ANP and FCE were used to calculate the comprehensive weight coefficients of the surface properties of ink-jet printing paper on its color reproduction quality, and a prediction model of color reproduction quality of ink-jet printing paper based on ANP-FCE was established. Under the same experimental conditions, an ink-jet printer was used to print the GATF standard step scale on the five paper samples. The X-Rite measuring instrument was used to test the color difference values ΔE of cyan, magenta, yellow and black on different paper samples. The color rendering effect of the dots was observed through the image analyzer, and the surface microscopic morphology of the paper samples was observed with the scanning electron microscope (SEM). Glossiness, absorbency and whiteness had higher influence weights on the color reproduction quality. The order of the color reproduction quality of the five kinds of ink-jet paper from good to bad was 3# > 5# > 4# > 1# > 2#. The prediction model based on ANP-FCE can effectively predict the color reproduction effect of ink-jet printing paper, providing a scientific basis for accurately controlling the color quality of ink-jet printing and reasonably selecting ink-jet printing paper, which helps to improve the overall color management level and production efficiency of the ink-jet printing industry.
