Abstract

The work aims to study the color changes of liquor packaging prints under ultraviolet light irradiation, and on this basis, predict the lightfastness properties. Eighteen common wine packaging prints from four categories were selected, and an accelerated aging test was carried out under xenon lamp weathering test chambers. The CIELAB and CIEDE2000 values were used to evaluate their lightfastness under different time. The obtained reflectance spectra were modeled by applying an ANN technique that was proposed to predict the fading rate of the liquor packaging prints. The results indicated that the prints would fade under the ultraviolet light, the red would become brighter and lighter, with the corresponding increase in brightness and decrease in saturation. The color change was quite different for the prints from different enterprises. It generally took 90 hours for different products to show differences under the accelerated aging conditions of this experiment. It shows that the number of training samples should not be less than 90 hours to predict the later aging degree of samples. The experimental results can also provide guidance for the selection of printing ink formula and light aging performance prediction.
