Abstract

The work aims todesign a fresh fuel transport container for the safe transportation of fresh fuel assembly (CF series) used in the third-generation nuclear power plant "Hualong No.1" independently developed by China. The design of container structures was expounded from the perspectives of safety and convenience. The safety of the container structure was analyzed and demonstrated through calculation and the calculation and analysis results were verified combined with the mechanical and heat resistance tests. The test results of this fresh fuel transport container were consistent with the calculation and analysis results. The results show that the structural safety, critical safety, thermal safety, shielding safety and containment safety of this fresh fuel transport container meet the requirements of GB 11806-2019 and IAEA SSR-6 for the packaging of type AF-Ⅱ (yellow), ensuring the safe transportation of the fresh fuel assembly in Hualong No.1.
