Abstract

The work aims to review the design and realization of functionalized polysaccharide-based films to provide reference for improving the function and stability of biodegradable packaging films and expanding its application in various food packaging. The functional design of natural polysaccharide-based films in antibacterial, antioxidant and other active packaging and pH response, temperature monitoring and other intelligent packaging was systematically sorted out. The controlled release technology of active substances in the active packaging films was described and the opportunities and challenges faced by the application of polysaccharide-based active packaging and intelligent packaging films in food preservation were discussed. The polysaccharide-based active packaging and intelligent packaging films can not only extend the shelf life of food, but also monitor the quality and freshness of food. Therefore, it is of great significance and practical value to develop green, safe and functional polysaccharide-based food packaging films and its application in food preservation.
