Increasing Prototype Reuse Rate of Recycled Beer Bottles under Recycling Economy

Abstract

The work aims to stabilize the physical and mechanical properties of recyclable glass beer bottles used by beer enterprises, increase the beauty and smoothness of the bottle surface, reduce the probability of bottle bursting during reuse, and ensure consumption safety. By simulating the consumption turnover link, the researched and developed equipment was assembled onto the filling line with the most serious wear after recycling old beer bottles after cleaning and before filling. A layer of safe oxidized OPE wax emulsion was applied to the bottle surface. The entire cycle process of filling-turnover-cleaning-filling was repeated to collect test data. By collecting and analyzing the test data of the test group and the control group in each cycle, in the test group after the process improvement, the bottle surface was as bright as a new bottle in each round. Their physical and mechanical properties were significantly better than those of the test group. In the control group, the number of repeated use increased by more than 2.5 times compared with the control group. This process can effectively reduce the surface friction coefficient of recycled old beer bottles, improve the stagnation phenomenon on the bottle surface after cleaning, reduce the damage to bottles caused by contact wear, delay the decay speed of mechanical properties, and increase the same-purpose use frequency advocated for circular economy and reduce the use and cost of new bottles. At the same time, it provides stable quality process support for the index requirements of recyclable old bottles added in the revised new GB4544-2020 Beer Bottles.
