Establishment of Isothermal Hygroscopic Model of Cigar Raw Material and Cigarette

Abstract

The work aims to accurately control the environmental conditions and water content in the key link of cigar production and processing, reduce the material loss in each link, optimize the control parameters and ensure the product safety and quality. With cigar coat, cigar cover, cigar core and cigarette as the objects, the water content and water activity were balanced at 20, 30 and 40 ℃ under different relative humidity conditions. The isothermal hygroscopic curve and the response model of the hygroscopic curve of cigar raw material and cigarette at different temperature were established. According to the results, the isothermal hygroscopic curve of cigar raw material and cigarette at the same temperature under different humidity conditions belonged to type Ⅱ isotherm and the hygroscopic ability of cigar raw material and cigarette was:cigar coat ≈ cigar cover > cigarette > cigar core and the higher the temperature, the stronger the hygroscopic ability of cigar raw material and cigarette. GAB model was the optimal model to fit the isothermal hygroscopic curve of cigar raw material and cigarette. The determination coefficients R2 of predicted and measured values were all greater than 0.995, MRE was less than 5% and BRE was less than 10%. The predicted and measured water content balanced at different temperature and humidity showed a linear relationship with a slope of 1, indicating a high degree of agreement. GAB model has a high accuracy in predicting the environmental conditions and water content of cigar during production and processing and can effectively guide the control of water and ambient temperature and humidity in the material process, reduce material loss in each link, ensure smooth production process, guarantee product safety and improve product quality.
