One-step Fabrication of Green Superhydrophobic Ivory Board by Spraying

Abstract

The work aims to change the interaction between board surface and water, improve the water resistance of board packaging materials, and expand the application scope of board packaging. KH550 and PDMS were used for hydrophobic modification of nano-SiO2, and then the modified nano-SiO2 was sprayed on the surface of ivory board. The surface morphology and elemental composition of the sprayed ivory board were analyzed by SEM and X-ray energy spectrum, and the properties were investigated. After spraying, the surface of the sprayed ivory board had a micro-nano rough structure, a surface contact angle of 156.3° and a rolling angle of 3.5°, with superhydrophobic performance. The prepared superhydrophobic ivory board had excellent self-cleaning, anti-fouling ability, acid and alkali resistance, temperature resistance and coating firmness. The prepared superhydrophobic ivory board can be used in various packaging scenarios, which greatly expands the application scope of ivory board. The preparation process is simple and easy to be industrialized.
