Abstract

The work aims to establish a method for determination of total organotin migration based on inductively coupled plasma mass spectrometry (ICP-MS) technology, and use it in rapid screening of total organotin in food contact materials. The tetrahydrofuran dissolution method was used to screen out the samples added with organictin heat stabilizers. Water and 4% acetic acid simulants were used for migration test at 20 ℃ and 40 ℃ for 10 d. The results of conventional immersion migration and ultrasonic acceleration migration were compared. The precision and the accuracy of the detection method were confirmed. The total organotin migration measurement method had a good linear correlation at concentration of 0.13-13 μg/L. The limit of detection of migration using 4% acetic acid simulant was 0.011 μg/L, and the limit of quantification was 0.033 μg/L; The limit of detection of migration using water simulant was 0.0097 μg/L, and the limit of quantification was 0.029 μg/L. The adding standard recovery of total organotin was 98.1%-109.9% and the relative standard deviation (RSD) was less than 4.5%. The proposed method has high sensitivity, high selectivity and accuracy. It is suitable for rapid analysis of total organotin migration in PVC packaging materials.
