Abstract
The paper aims to study and propose a simple calibration method of surface structured light projector, and accurately measure packages with regular shapes such as beverage bottles, cans, and bottle caps, as well as human faces with complex contours in combination with the measurement platform built in the experiment. Firstly, a two-dimensional gray checkerboard calibration board was used to calibrate the camera, and then the set black and white checkerboard pattern was projected onto the calibration board. Then, the coordinates of feature points of the camera captured projection pattern were obtained in combination with image threshold segmentation and morphological operation. Finally, the calibrated camera parameters were used to calibrate the projector. The calibration method proposed in this paper is relatively simple and cost effective, and the projection error in the x and y directions was basically less than 1 pixel. The measurement experiment results show that the calibration method in the paper can guarantee the ideal measurement accuracy and has a good application range.
