E-commerce Packaging Design for Ceiling Lamp Based on Bionic Structure

Abstract

The work aims to design the novel e-commerce cushioning packages for large ceiling lamp to change the current situation of family-sized ceiling lamp protection package with insufficient protection capacity and simple packaging structure, so as to improve the consumer buying experience and brand value. A bionic honeycomb structure was made from corrugated board instead of EPE cushioning materials. Moreover, two design schemes with and without lid were put forward. Compared with the original packages, the compressive strength of the two corrugated board cushioning packages increased by 80.8% and 111.2%, respectively. Fast sealing and unpacking structure was easy for consumers to take out products in a single operation, which solved problems of environmentally unfriendly packaging materials and poor user experiences. Both schemes adopt the bionic corrugated board cushioning structure, which not only improves the protection performance of the packages, but also simplifies the opening procedure of the packages, providing feasible solutions for developing e-commerce packages of large fragile goods.
