Abstract

Consumers' cognition and use behaviors have significant influence on the quality of decision-making and the control level of related risks. Therefore, the investigation and analysis of consumers' cognition, use behaviors and its influence factors have important reference significance for other related researches. Based on data of 896 consumer samples from 5 jurisdictions in Changzhou, the main sociological features of the samples and the safety cognition and use behavior of food contact materials were analyzed. Women (accounting for 74.1% of the total samples) were mainly responsible for the dietary work in most families. The age group was mainly distributed in the middle and young people (accounting for 74.1% of the total samples). The general situation of consumers’ safety cognition and use behaviors of food contact materials was unpleasant and the overall accuracy rate of 90% consumers was less than 60%. The accuracy rate of consumers with master degree or above was higher than those with low education background in general situation, cognition and use behaviors. Consumers lack necessary safety cognition of food contact materials, and misuse behavior is common. Therefore, it is urgent to strengthen publicity, education and consumption guidance.
