Creative Application of Intangible Cultural Heritage Based on Modern Printing Process

Abstract

It aims to study the creative application of intangible cultural heritage by modern printing process. It discusses the theory basis and approach to the creative application of intangible cultural heritage. According to UNESCO's definition of intangible cultural heritage, the creativity and modernity are the core features of the concept. It compares two different ways of the creative application which are creative product design and innovative printing design, and then highlights innovative printing design plays an important role in developing new forms of traditional culture. By analyzing the actual cases of the 68th Premier Print Awards including “Benny Award” Gold Medal winning work “Shan Hai Jing” and Bronze winning work “Fan”, it describes the brand-new feature of intangible cultural heritage through modern printing process which successfully leads China's intangible cultural heritage creative works to the world's printing stage. The combination of advanced printing technology and design ideas, which stimulates the Intangible Cultural Heritage fit the new age better by extensive use of print media, is the effective way to ensure the vitality of intangible cultural heritage. Thus, it will achieve the real significance of creative application of intangible cultural heritage.
