Abstract
In the design, the use of the mutual interpretation of philosophy and graphics is helpful to the analysis and popularization of modern design. But on the other hand, The simplistic way of relevance can make philosophy lose its aesthetic, planned work becomes messy. With the misunderstanding and generalization of Japan's "Zen Design" in Chinese, "simple" and "simplicity" is equivalent to "Zen", not only fuzzy rational spirit in the design method, but also hurt the Zen in the "humor", "Dialectic" and "nature" aesthetic qualities. Based on the design history and designers face interviews, using exemplification and comparison, we can find that the image of Zen Buddhism on Japanese design is not a direct and extensive, which plays a decisive role of Japanese design is still the material conditions and traditional culture.
