This study aimed to investigate the influence of different lignin content on the residual rate of sodium chlorite in preservative paper. Different portions of chemical pulp and chemi-mechanical pulp was used to make papers with different lignin contents. Coating method was applied to fresh-keeping papers. Method for acid insoluble lignin determination in pulp was used to detect lignin contents on the surface of these papers. By the way of iodimetry, the content of sodium chlorite in the papers was measured respectively. As time went by, the residual rate of sodium chlorite was decreased, but the degree and velocity were different. Our results indicated that there are positive linear relationships between the lignin content in the paper and the proportion of chemical mechanical pulp. Lignin leads to the degression of sodium chlorite in the papers. There are also positive linear relationships between the lignin content and the decrease of the sodium chlorite residual rate.
