To understand the management framework on food contact adhesive of various developed countries and regions such as USA and EU, compare their advantages and disadvantages, and analyze the content which can be utilized in establishing the Chinese food contact adhesive standard system, while give references to regulatory management authority, supervision department, related industries and enterprises. History development, competent authorities and management style on food contact materials and food contact adhesives of China and the major developed countries were systematically introduced and comparatively analyzed. Improvement countermeasures were proposed through analysis of the existing problems in the Chinese standard system. Framework for the regulations of food contact materials and food contact adhesives has been systematically established in developed countries. There are some differences in the management content and management model among different countries. Some of them could give reference for the Chinese system. Industry investigation on the manufacturing and application of food contact adhesives should be conducted. National safety standard on food contact adhesives should be established as soon as possible on the basis of domestic industry investigation as well as the features and advantages of management of food contact adhesives in other countries and regions.
